Blu Furutate

Blu Furutate (she/her) is a Japanese born New Yorker. She studied at Fiorello H. LaGuardia High School, The Ailey School, French Academie of Ballet, and MOVE|NYC|. She attended numerous summer programs, including Jacob’s Pillow, Orsolina28, Arts Umbrella, b12, and Peeping Tom in Amsterdam. At Juilliard, Blu performed works by Johannes Wieland, Camille A. Brown, Shen Wei, and Sidra Bell. She has worked with artists such as Gregory Lau, Bryan Arias, Bret Easterling, and Jesse Obremski. Blu performed in Sharon Eyal’s R.O.S.E at the Park Avenue Armory. Her choreography has premiered in Juilliard’s Choreographers & Composers and Senior Production. Additionally, she serves as a Student Diversity Advocate at Juilliard. Blu extends her love and gratitude to all that have shown support and is excited for what’s to come.
